Pearl OC-7 Octaver Octave pedal...not like Boss or POG. Quite unique!!

What we have here for sale is a very rare Pearl OC-7 Octaver pedal. This is an analog, 80s vintage octaver pedal that’s extremely well built (sturdy metal case) and quite hard to find these days.

Unlike most octave pedals out there, this model offers Octave +1, Octave -1 and Octave – 2 options, besides dry level. So, you can blend all these 4 sounds to create amazing tones.

The tracking on octave down modes are good but not as good as with the (digital) Electro Harmonix POGs, but overall, I’d personally rate this Pearl OC-7 higher than the Micro POG, not only for the extra Octave -2 mode (Micro POG only goes one down) but also because the Octave +1 is more subtle and natural: put the OC7 before a good fuzz, and you’ll get a better tone than if you did the same with the POG – which has a very artificial, chimey quality to it (which is great in itself for other uses, of course)

There are quite a few good Octave pedals out there: Boss, POG, POG2 etc…and each one is in fact quite different and offers something unique. And so is the case with the Pearl OC-7: no Boss or Electro-Harmonix octave pedal offers quite what this one does. To pick which one do you think is the best, is a matter of taste and of what you want from your octave pedal.

I’m NOT selling this cheap – someone said a “as new” boxed Pear OC-7 could fetch upwards to £200…which is a bit too much I think, but starting at £85 with £120 (inc. free power supply) buy it now I think is fair. If it doesn’t go for this price, I’ll be happy to keep it, really. You’ll be hard-pressed to find players willing to part with their OC-7, hence their rarity…there’s a good reason for this! Do you want to find out why? Well…bid for it on ebay!

PLEASE NOTE: Battery not included. But Buy It Now buyer will receive FREE UK power supply.

PEARL OC-7 RECOMMENDED FOR:

- Players who want an Octave Up sound with their current distortion/fuzz but don’t want to buy an Octave Up fuzz pedal

- Players who like experimental sounds like Sonic Youth, and wouldn’t mind some lo-fi Octave Down weirdness (bit like MXR Blue Box, maybe?)

- or players would like a sound more or less like the White Stripes “Blue Orchid” (basically, turn all modes up!)

For sale now on eBay!

Here’s a not-particularly-easy-to-find Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Octave Fuzz. Kinda inspired by the Octavio, this pedal is a quite nasty octave-up fuzz. Not for every taste but…if you know how to use it, you can get some great tones!

http://www.harmonycentral.com/products/4087

Specially modified circuitry in the Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Octave Fuzz Pedal adds an octave overtone to the fundamental fuzz effect. This gives the unique edge heard on many of Jimi’s solos. The Octave Fuzz Pedal features 2 external control knobs: volume and tone. A red LED indicates when unit is on. Requires AC adapter or 9-volt battery (not included)

Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth are two well-kown users of this pedal.

Friendly advice: like most nasty fuzz boxes, this pedal will sound MUCH, much better if you got a good valve amp. And, like many players have said before – it’s not really meant to be used on its own, but to drive another fuzz or overdrive…that’s when you’ll get the best tones of this baby.

You can get some pretty cool ring modulator-type sounds too.

Here’s a cool demo:

The pedal is in great working order and looking pretty good, too.

Comes with golden hardware and classic-looking tulip tuners. This guitar is *as new*, has only been on display in a shop, so it still has stickers on the pu’s.

As far as I’m concerned, there’s only one Les Paul – Gibson, made in USA. Anything else is just a copy – and considering this, an Epiphone is really no better or “worthier” than a Tokai or V100. Out of the 3, the Vintage V100 certainly represents the best value for money and won’t disappoint you. They certainly don’t look or sound cheap. I love Epiphones, when it comes to their original models such as Riviera, Sheraton, Wilshire, Coronet…but considering the quality of a V100, I’d never spend my money on a Epiphone Les Paul…just not worth it!

This V100 is worth over £200 new, so grab yourself a bargain!!!

I’m selling a limited-edition JMI rangemaster – faithful replica of the legendary Dallas Rangemaster treble booster used by Eric Clapton on the John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers album. Like the original, this one uses OC44 germanium transistors…this is quite simply the best ever treble booster unit!!!

JMI Dallas Rangemaster Treble Booster

What can I say? This baby sounds AWESOME with a good valve amp such as an AC30 or a Marshall Bluesbreaker. Probably not so much with a Fender.

Other users include Richie Blackmore, Brian May and Tony Iommi.

The Rangemaster is great to overdrive a valve amp into fuzzy heaven with very little in the way of feedback. The tone is simply amazing – the Rangemaster is one of the best and most legendary effects box ever made, and the JMI reissue does it justice.

This reissue uses OC44 Germanium transistors, like some of the best fuzz pedals out there – indeed, even though it’s technically a “treble booster”, you could see it as a very simple fuzz pedal. I never thought I’d even need a treble booster until I tried the rangemaster – simply take the treble out of the amp, and you get an amazing, crisp, meaty fuzz tone with the Rangemaster.

I’m selling because I don’t have a valve amp anymore and it doesn’t sound as good with solid state ones in my opinion…so grab a bargain!

The Rangemaster comes in the original box. These fx boxes are very collectible and worth over £250 new, so GRAB A BARGAIN!

Epiphone Wilshite Limited-Edition White

I think these new “worn” Epiphone Wilshires (which you can find at Dawsons etc) are pretty cool, but not as good as the limited edition model.

The Epiphone Wilshire LTD has a beautiful, glossy arctic white finish, rather than the “worn” finish (which I personally think looks a bit cheap in comparison).

The Limited model also has full-sized humbuckers and trapezoid inlays instead of dots.

Epiphone Wilshire LTD White - £200 including Epiphone hardcase!

This Epiphone Wilshire sounds great and looks simply stunning! definitely one of the coolest guitars I ever played.

I’m selling it for £200 (inc. Epiphone Hardcase) – local pickup only (Merseyside). For further details just contact me.

PLEASE NOTE: the guitar has a small chip on one of the frets (5th) but it doesn’t affect playability at all. Flash makes it looks more noticeable than it is.

Here’s a vintage, Boss Digital Pitch Shifter / Delay pedal, MADE IN JAPAN (blue Label). It’s a great little pedal…the digital delay sounds very organic and is one of the few digital delays that goes into wild oscillations, to shame any analog one!!!

I’m downsizing so this pedal unfortunately needs to go, but the buyer will certainly be very happy with it!

The Boss PS2 was used by Slowdive so if you’re into shoegaze you’ll like it. It was used on this song – hear the great digital oscillation at the end!

This pedal is capable of a great variety of sounds (for instance, the continued tone that comes out of the TUNE OUT) so if you’re a creative guitarist you’ll find much to love about it! And like any MIJ Boss pedal, this one is collectable, too, and a cool addition to any pedal board.

I’ve own/ed the Boss Dm2, DD3, DSD2, RE20 and I can say that this PS2 sounds very good next to these other great, well-known pedals. it is UNIQUE which is more than can be said of most modern delay pedals…unlike most digital delays, which are clean by definition, there IS an audible degradation of the signal when the repeats are set long enough on the feedback knob.

When feedback is set to the max, it generates an unique, horrible/ beautiful digital hissy oscillation…basically a very particular oscillation that compares well next to any analog one, and not achievable on any digital delay I’ve ever heard. Sweet!

This pedal is on sale NOW. Auction ends 25 Feb, 201020:39:01 GMT (UK ONLY)

Auction ends 28 Feb, 201022:41:37 GMT

Here’s the blurb:

The PS-2 was the first pitch shifter made by Boss and one of the first pedals with dual boards. It works both as a pitch shifter and a digital delay and it is perhaps surprising that it doesn’t use the same chip as the DD-3 and DSD-3. Pitch shifting is limited to one octave up or down while maximum delay time is 2 seconds.

The PS-2 has a total of 6 different modes

Up to 125 ms delay
Up to 500 ms delay
Up to 2 seconds delay
Set pitch shift manually
+1 octave
-1 octave

In terms of sound..it definitely sounds like the best ever delay, to me! However, i need a delay longer than the DM2′s 330ms so unfortunately i gotta sell it…i need some extra cash and can’t afford to keep a valuable pedal just for the sake of it, bah!

PURE vintage, germanium fuzz. Quite harsh, but great…not as versatile as a Big Muff, but that’s the point!

I think this pedal sounds much better (and louder) than the new Colorsound fuzz pedals, and I can’t see how the new, boutique Tone Benders that are now being reissued (for over £290!!!) could improve much on this Vox Tonebender.

I actually used to own a Colorsound Tonebender, and sold it because i didn’t think it was as good as this more modest one. Not at ALL!!!

I’ve actually seen a band doing a cover of the Yardbirds “Evil Hearted You”, and the guitarist sounded EXACTLY like Jeff Beck…and he was using a Vox Tonebender like this one. So there!

This pedal has seen lots of gigging action and is full of scratches and marks…but works perfectly and comex in the original box with manual. Bid now on eBay!

Now…this is a truly vintage, rare and amazing guitar! 1965 Epiphone Olympic made in Kalamazoo, USA!

Epiphone '65 Olympic - affordable collectible vintage guitar!

This 1965 Epiphone Olympic (with that cool “batwing” headstock) is quite rare nowadays, and even some guitar “experts” don’t seem to know much about it – I’ve had quite a few guys mistaking it for an Epiphone Coronet (which looks similar but has a P-90 pickup)

It’s almost impossible to find one of those Epiphone Olympics here in the UK.

If you like The Libertines, this is the same model that was used by Pete Doherty during the recording of their debut album Up The Bracket, and on their first UK tour (it’s the guitar that appears on the sleeve of their second single, also titled Up The Bracket). When they got bigger, Doherty moved on to the more expensive Epiphone Coronet (which he still uses now with Babyshambles). But the Epiphone Olympic is THE sound of Up The Bracket!

Pete Doherty (left) with an Epiphone Olympic, before he moved to the Coronet

The finish looks amazing and the neck is super smooth. This guitar is infinitely better than the Gibson Melody Maker reissue, both in terms of looks and sound.

Like the Melody Maker, it has just one single coil pickup – and not very loud at that, like those old single coils tend to be – you gotta crank up the amp or use a booster pedal to get the most of this guitar. But oh boy…when you do, it just sounds fantastic!

You don’t need to like The Libertines to love this guitar. It’s great for all kinds of music, from punk and indie to blues. I currently got it tuned to Open G and it’s a joy to play slide guitar with this Epiphone Olympic. The combination of Epiphone Olympic + Fuzz pedal + valve amp is simply amazing, a joy, pure rock’n'roll!

And the way we see it…it’s a bloody cool guitar! Everyone’s got a Strat or a Telecaster or a Jazzmaster or a Les Paul…big deal! But a guitar like this Epiphone Olympic really turns heads at gigs and makes you instantly look 100% more cool.

I’ve seen so many shit bands playing a Jazzmaster or Jaguar, that even though I originally wanted one (because of Sonic Youth/ My Bloody Valentine etc) i was a bit put off and decided to buy the Epiphone Olympic, because it was cool and rare. Why play a guitar that everybody else plays? Boring!

If you’re a guitarist who wants something cool, rare, vintage and different, then this guitar might be the one for you!

IF YOU WANT TO BUY THIS GUITAR, EMAIL ME AT ANTI_EVERYTHING2001[AT]YAHOO[DOT]CO[DOT]UK AND I’LL PUT IT UP ON EBAY:

PRICE £850 BUY IT NOW ON EBAY

It has a removable vibrato system, so if you don’t like it you can just use the Les Paul Junior-style wrap around bridge.

The tuners are great and this guitar hardly ever goes out of tune. It has one volume knob and one tone knob. It has a few scratches and whatnot, but you know the score…that’s just the sign of a well-played guitar, adds a certain charm.

The guitar is in good shape and has been used at quite a few gigs with no problems. It comes with the original hard-case and with a Fender vintage-style leather strap.
